A Day in the Life:
- You will perform onsite reviews and audits of the Distribution Center functions and Pool Points focused on the improvement or identification and correction of controls governing the movement and/or accountability of inventory.
- Work directly with our Distribution Centers, Pool Points and Stores regarding any issues or areas of concern noted during audits or as directed by Inventory Control, Asset Protection or Shortage Control Sr. Management.
- Actively supports initiatives, projects, and strategies with focus on on-going performance improvement.
- You will lead and motivate a team of Area Managers, Leads, Analysts, Cycle Counters, Inspectors and Researchers to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Provides training and guidance to team members on inventory management processes and procedures while fostering professional growth and development.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the activities, task priorities, work assignments, staffing and equipment resources for the Inventory Control, Cycle Count, Accuracy & Compliance, and Inventory Research teams.
- Coordinate and manage the month end and year-end inventory processes and financial accruals for the distribution centers.
- Safeguard assets and ensure accurate valuation of inventory through the identification of inventory related issues, investigations, root cause analysis and the correction of deficiencies. Continuous performance and monitoring of all applicable reports.
- Report and monitor inventory shrinkage against annual goals while participating in the analysis and strategic alignment with operational partners to meet business objectives and deliver quantifiable results through process improvement initiatives.
- Analysis and correction of inventory shrinkage and allocation between the distribution centers and respective stores related to receiving adjustments and correction of store shipments and receipts.
- Establish and maintain “Best Practices” related to inventory control functions for the distribution centers by reviewing operational processes, developing and testing system enhancements, creating and updating standard operating procedures and providing ad hoc reporting to support Supply Chain, Finance and Operations.
- Partner with Finance and Operations to effectively resolve vendor payment issues with distribution center receiving departments while providing feedback to Operations regarding the receiving function.
- Coordinate, process, approve and communicate inventory adjustments related to receiving errors and other inventory related functions to correct and properly report distribution center and store inventory.
- Manage the identification, reporting, financial adjustment and liquidation or disposal of overstock, discontinued, and damaged products, in-house, in-transit and at the pool points.
- Member of the Disaster Recovery team responsible for inspection and valuation of inventory loss for financial reporting and operational coordination related to accidents and natural disasters.
- 5-10 years warehouse or distribution experience
- 5 years supervisory and/or management experience
- Knowledge of Inventory applications (i.e. WMS / Manhattan, Synapse, Oracle, CMS, Dematic)
- Knowledge of SQL Developer
